History

The Nigerian Petroleum Development Company Limited (NPDC) is a Subsidiary of the Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation (NNPC), established to engage in the business of Oil and Gas Production within and outside the country.

 

As the biggest indigenous Oil and Gas Company in Nigeria, NPDC’s VISION is to be Nigeria’s leading Exploration and Production Company with significant global presence.

 

Our MISSION is to become an oil and gas company operating responsibly, delivering value to stakeholders and applying the best industry practices and technologies

 

Our operations are concentrated in six States in the Niger Delta region namely: Akwa Ibom, Bayelsa, Delta, Edo, Imo and Rivers.

 

NPDC has Board of Directors, Managing Director and twelve Executive Directors/General Managers in charge of the twelve divisions (Asset Management, Planning and Commercial, Services, Exploration and Development, Supply Chain Management, Finance & Accounts, Engineering and Technical Services, Community Relations & Security, Gas Development, Health, Safety and Environment, Information Technology, Company Secretariat & Legal).

 

ACCOMPLISHMENTS:

 

·               Involved in 29 Concessions (22 OMLs & 7 OPLs)

                o             100% ownership of six (6) blocks: OMLs 13, 64,        

                                65, 66, 111 & 119.

                o             55% equity in eight (8) blocks: OMLs 4, 26, 30, 34,                  

                                38, 40, 41 & 42.

                o             60% equity in four (4) blocks: OMLs 60, 61, 62 & 63.

                o             Varied interest in seven (7) deep-water concessions: OPLs 223, 242, 244, 251, 325, 332

                             and OML 145

  

                o             Non-equity operations in four (4) blocks: OMLs 11, 20, 49, 51 (selected

                                NNPC JV fields)

·               Currently the 5th Largest Producer of crude Oil in the

                country.

·               Currently the single largest producer of Gas in

                Nigeria.

·               Owns & operates the 7th Largest FPSO in Nigeria                  

                (FPSO Mystras) with 1.03 million barrels of crude oil

                capacity.
