Bashir Bello Godabe
GENERAL MANAGER, HEALTH, SAFETY AND ENVIRONMENT DIVISION
Education: Mr. Bashir Bello Godabe hails from Gwale Local Government Area of Kano State. He attended Government Technical College Wudil between 1973 and 1978 before proceeding to Bayero University, Kano. He graduated in 1983 with a Bachelor of Science degree in Chemistry. Mr. Godabe also has a Masters degree in Business Administration from University of Benin.
Career: Mr. Godabe started his career in NNPC as Chemist II in November 1984 at the Kaduna Refining and Petrochemical Company (KRPC). In 1985, he was redeployed to Petrochemicals Phase I Project, where he commenced six-month training. Later in that year, he was sent to Warri Refining and Petrochemical Company (WRPC) for the mandatory On-the-Job-Training.
In 1986, Mr. Godabe was moved to Carbon Black Plant site to join the team for commissioning activities. He rose to become the Superintendent of Carbon Black Laboratory in 1991. In 2005, he was redeployed to the Laboratory Services as Superintendent.
Mr. Godabe was promoted to Deputy Manager, Fire & Safety and redeployed to NPDC in 2006. In 2013, he became the Manager, Health Safety and Environment. He was appointed General Manager, Health Safety and Environment Division in November 2016.
As one of the pioneering staff of the Petrochemical Plant, he made significant and qualitative contributions during start-up and commissioning. In recognition of his outstanding performance, he received a letter of commendation from the Managing Director. Mr. Godabe also won the best staff award of WRPC’s Operations Division as a clear demonstration of his exceptional ability and responsiveness to challenges.
External Roles: Mr. Godabe served in the Standards Organization of Nigeria’s Committee for Petroleum and Petrochemicals products as well as NNPC R&P Directorate Technical Committee.
Mr. Godabe is a Fellow of the Institute of Chartered Chemists of Nigeria (ICCON), a member of the Institute of Safety Professionals of Nigeria (ISPoN), Chemical Society of Nigeria (CSN) and American Society of Safety Engineers (ASSE). He is happily married with children.
