Dr. Salihu Jamari
GENERAL MANAGER, GAS DEVELOPMENT DIVISION
Education: Dr. Salihu Jamari hails from Hong Local Government Area of Adamawa State. He was admitted at Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria to study Chemical Engineering and obtained the Bachelor of Engineering, Master’s Degree in Chemical Engineering and Masters in Business Administration. He later proceeded to Salford University, Manchester and Imperial College, London both in the United Kingdom where he was awarded another Master of Science in Gas Engineering and Management, and Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D & DIC) in Flow Assurance Engineering respectively. He also has an Executive Postgraduate Diploma in International Gas Industry Management from Cambridge University UK.
Career: From 1993 to 1998, Dr. Jamari worked as a Research Fellow at the Energy Commission of Nigeria, Energy Research Centre at Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria. He proceeded to the Petroleum Training Institute (PTI), Effurun, Warri, Delta State in 1999 where he served as a Training Officer till 2001 when he got another offer as a Research Fellow on the Transient Multiphase Flow Project at Imperial College, London.
Upon his return to Nigeria, Dr. Jamari resumed duty at PTI, Effurun where he continued as a Training Officer from 2006 till 2007 when he joined NNPC as a Superintendent, Field Operations in NPDC. In November, 2016, Dr. Salihu Jamari was appointed as the first General Manager of the Gas Development Division in NPDC.
External Roles: With more than twenty-four years’ experience in the Energy Sector, Dr. Jamari brings with him a wealth of knowledge in the global gas engineering and management procedure. He is a member of the Institute of Gas Engineers and Managers (IGEM); he is also a Chartered Engineer registered with Engineering Council in United Kingdom. Dr Jamari is a member of the Nigerian Society of Engineers (registered with COREN) and the International Institute of Project Managers (IIPM).
