NPDC is Committed to Safety Practices

“Safety is the most important aspect of our business”. This was the crux of the address by the Managing Director of the Nigerian Petroleum Development Company Limited (NPDC), Mr. Iyowuna Briggs, at the Town Hall Meeting held with Management and Staff

He said that every Staff should imbibe safety conscious attitude to avoid loss of lives and properties. As a result, he advised that once anyone notices an unsafe act, immediate actions should be taken to check the situation, adding that Safety could be a threat to the organization, whether internal or external, hence the need for everyone to act safely.

The MD further canvassed for staff commitment to duty.  He said:  “we need to be patient with one another, be each other’s keeper and politely correct others whenever the need arises”.

Thereafter, a presentation on NPDC Culture Change and Taking Ownership of 2013 Business Plan was made by Mr. John Kelega of the Planning & Budget Monitoring Department. The presentation re-emphasized NPDC Vision, Mission, Core values and how Staff should live our values. It also taught on how variables like Safety, Performance, Empowerment & Entrepreneurship, Respect & Trust, Innovation, Ownership & Consequence Management, Team work & Open Communication, Professionalism and Excellence would bring about excellent performance in the organization.

Chairmen of the two in-house Unions, Comrade Emmanuel Eze (PENGASSAN) and Comrade Akurokeokia Batubo (NUPENG) also took turns to address the gathering on behalf of Staff.
