Relief Materials for Three Communities in Ajuju-Batan Field

Due to the spillage that occurred on Thursday, 5th July, 2012 at Ajuju, Diebiri and Diebiri-Batan communities in Ajuju-Batan Field (OML 42), the Nigerian Petroleum Development Company Limited (NPDC) supplied relief materials to the affected communities.

The items were bags of Rice, Beans, Garri, Toilet and washing soaps, crates of water, bags of salt, tubers of yam, kegs of palm oil and other essentials commodities worth millions of naira.

Presenting the materials on behalf of NPDC to the communities, the Community Relations Officer, OML 42, Mr. Emmanuel Okabie reiterated that the provisions of the items was  made in line with the agreement reached with the three affected communities after proper investigation of the spill.

He re-assured the communities of the company’s commitment at improving the existing peaceful relationship with its host communities.

Responding, the representative of the Ajuju Community, Engr. Sam Oyimi thanked NPDC for the prompt response to ameliorate the plight of the people.
