NPDC Management Visits Edo State Governor

The Executive Governor of Edo State, Comrade Adams Oshiomhole has commended the Nigerian Petroleum Development Company Limited (NPDC) for building its Corporate Headquarters in Benin City, Edo State.

The Governor made this commendation while receiving the NPDC Management who paid him a courtesy visit at the Government House, Benin-City on Friday, 6th December, 2013.

‘I want to appreciate NPDC for constructing its corporate Headquarters in Benin City, Edo State. I believe that this is a major contribution to the development not only of Edo State but also of the South-South Region.’

Speaking further, Comrade Adams Oshiomhole said that the Edo State Government was ready to support NPDC to expand its operations within the State, adding that NPDC’s growth would impact positively on the development of Edo State.

Already, the Edo State Government according to the Governor has taken measures to ensure easy access to the NPDC Corporate Headquarters when the building is completed with the expansion of the Airport/Ogba Road where the new edifice is located.

He also added that his Government will continue to ensure the security of lives and properties thereby making NPDC stay in Edo State comfortable.

His Excellency, Comrade Adams Oshiomhole further appealed to NPDC Management to assist the State Government in boosting private sector participation in the oil and gas business.

Earlier, the Managing Director of NPDC, Mr. Iyowuna Briggs had said that the visit was essentially to assure the Government and people of Edo State of the company’s continued support and commitment to the progress of the State.

The MD also reiterated NPDC’s stand in encouraging local participation  in compliance with the Nigerian Content Act. He promised to liaise with the relevant departments to explore possible ways of supporting indigenous participation.

On the MD's entourage were the Executive Director Services, Mr. Ishaya Timothy, Executive Director Operations, Mr. Emmanuel Esele, Manager, Joint Interest Account, Mr. Abdullahi Bello (representative of the ED, F&A),. others include the Manager, External Relations Department, Mr. Ugo Atugbokoh, Manager Security Services Department, Mr. Lenunianee Johnson fsi, Supervisor, Media and Publications, Mrs. Doris Ohia and Technical Assistant to the Managing Director, Mr. Edidiong Idiong.
