Mr. Anthony Ugonna Muoneke was born in 1965. He
hails from Ihiala Local Government Area in Anambra State.
Mr. Anthony Muoneke completed his Primary and Secondary
education at the Ekulu Primary School and Federal Government College (both in
Enugu) in 1975 and 1980 respectively. He then proceeded to the University of
Nigeria, Nsukka where he obtained
a Bachelor’s Degree in Law (LL.B) in 1984. He
was called to bar the following year, after a successful completion of a
12-month programme in the Nigerian Law School. Mr. Muoneke later obtained a
Masters degree in Law (LL.M Hons) at the University of San
Diego, California USA in 1989.
Mr. Anthony Muoneke started his carrier at the Nigerian
Stock Exchange in 1985 where he did his mandatory National Youth Service. From
1986 to 1987, he worked as a Law Officer at the Prestigious Onyeabo Obi &
Co firm. Barr. Muoneke later moved to the Muoneke & Akubuilo Law Office,
APC, California, USA from 1990 to 1992. Later in 1992, he established his Law
office known and addressed as Anthony U. Muoneke & Associates - a
Professional Legal Corporation based in Houston, Texas.
In 2006, the Federal Government appointed Mr. Muoneke
as the Executive Director of Finance & Administration at the Niger Delta
Power Holding Company Limited, a position he held until his recent appointment
as the Managing Director of NPDC on Friday, 1st August, 2014.
Mr. Muoneke has over 29 years’ experience at
both local and international levels in the Oil, Gas and Power sectors. He has
worked in several organizations within and outside Nigeria, including the
University of San Diego, Legal Clinic, California, USA; Akubuilo &
Muoneke, APC, California, USA. Mr. Muoneke has provided
advisory, consulting and counseling services to both private and public
institutional clienteles in Oil and Gas industry, Power, Foreign Investment
Law, Technical Cooperation and Collaborative Agreements across the spectrum of
the economy. He is involved in the on-going development of framework for the Nigerian
Electricity Supply Industry and the reform agenda of the present administration
for the power sector.
Mr. Anthony Muoneke is married with children.
