In recognition of the pivotal role of the Department of State Services (DSS) in Edo State, the Managing Director of the Nigerian Petroleum Development Company Limited (NPDC), Mr. Yusuf Matashi recently paid a courtesy visit to the Edo State Director of State Services. The aim was to strengthen the existing cordial relations between the two organizations.
“NPDC is a government company wholly owned by the Federal Government and as such we have a common purpose and objective of protecting the nation oil installations for the benefit of all Nigerians.’’
“Today, we are in a competitive environment and it is very difficult for NPDC to achieve its target without the support of relevant Government Agencies’’ Mr. Matashi said.
Emphasizing that no company would thrive in an unsafe environment, the Managing Director admitted that security is crucial to NPDC operations hence the visit to the Department of State Services to continue to extend the level of support we have been enjoying over the years.
Earlier in his welcome address, the Director, State Service, Edo State, Mr. Ibrahim Aliyu expressed his gratitude to the Management of NPDC for the visit. He stated that the operations of NPDC is very critical to the Nigerian Nation as a whole considering the fact that oil is the main stay of the economy.
He promised that DSS will always be ready and willing at to assist the company in the discharge of its responsibilities.
The Director also solicited for the support of NPDC in organizing a Sensitization Workshop for NPDC staff to intimate them on the new tricks of criminals in view of the current level of threat in the oil and gas industry.
